Deb Hofland is a Christian wife of 38 years, mother of seven children & five grandchildren. She takes the Titus 2 commission seriously: that reverent and serious-minded older women should teach good things and train younger women how to love and be subject to their husbands, love their children, be self-controlled, pure, kind and busy at home — and to do it all to the glory of God.
With a degree in Elementary Education and a passion for teaching, Deb has taught or coached preschool through adult classes at school, church and homeschool co-op. She’s built her own curriculum using secondhand books and good old American ingenuity, has juggled chainsaws and pincushions in the homeschool talent show, and developed and facilitated “Teacher’s Toolbox” (a mentoring program at CTCHE co-op).
Deb recently organized a social and mentoring group (“Gather & Grow”) at her church to share marriage, parenting and home-making advice, teach wisdom and encourage women of all ages in their walk with the Lord; she also leads a weekly women’s Bible study with her own home-made curriculum and devotional material.
Faith is a been a big part of Deb’s life and her love for the Lord is obvious in the way her conversations are sprinkled with Bible passages, humor and examples of how He has worked in her life—in big ways and small.
Deb’s bucket list: Air Force veteran, master gardener, average quilter, struggling sketcher, passable photographer, nature lover, cancer survivor, Packer fan, square dancing and bike riding.
