I was spending a tenner on instant coffee so tried Aldi’s own brand – it tastes great & it’s WAY kinder on my purse | The Sun
WE'RE all hunting for new ways to save money.
And one woman took to Facebook to reveal the bargain buy that has saved her cash in her food shop.
Sharing her find to the Facebook group, Extreme Couponing And Bargains UK, Jane Buckton revealed she was sick of spending almost £10 on a jar of instant coffee.
In an attempt to save cash, the bargain-hunter tried an own-brand jar from Aldi and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was.
Jane swapped her usual Lor Intense instant coffee for the Aldi Specially Selected Costa Rica coffee and hasn't looked back.
She penned: "I’ve used Lor instant for ages now but it’s about £8.50 for 150g jar, making it around £5.60 per 100g I do usually get it when it is on a special deal.

"However, I decided that £8.50, if I can’t get it on a deal, is a bit steep so I thought I’d try this Aldi coffee.
"It isn’t Aldi’s cheapest but was £2.07 for a 100g jar.
"I have to say I’ll never go back, it’s lovely, strong, decent taste, and much kinder to my purse.
"I thought it may be useful for this group. Happy bargain hunting."
