Alex Scott tells fans she’s horny in awkward mishap as she opens up on finding the one

Football pundit Alex Scott, 35, caught up with Michelle Visage, 51, in an Instagram live chat last night, where she discussed her lockdown antics and single life. During their chat, the former Arsenal player experienced an awkward moment when she wrongly used a Spanish phrase.

I’m ready to have someone in my life

The former Strictly Come Dancing star had just finished a workout, which she captioned “sweaty” on her Instagram story.

Attempting to say the word in Spanish, Alex told her 355,000 followers she was “Estoy Caliente”.

The Spanish phrase is translated in English as “I am hot”, but is said to actually mean “I’m horny”.

A fan of Alex’s swiftly sent her a private direct message to point out the hilarious mishap, which Alex shared on her story.

They wrote: “Saying Estoy Caliente in Spanish means you’re horny, not hot. Common mistake when the phrase I’m hot is literally translated.

“The correct way to say it would be, ‘Tengo Calor’, which literally translated to English means, ‘I have hot’.

“Your pronunciation is great though so keep at it but thought I’d get you out of awkward situations before you say it to someone face to face.”

Finding her mishap funny, Alex replied: “Hahahaha really,” followed by crying with laughter emojis.

During her interaction with fans, the former footballer also revealed she is ready to find love.

Alex was newly-single ahead of her stint on Strictly Come Dancing last year, when she danced with Neil Jones.

The One Show guest presenter has now said she is open to dating after watching hit series Normal People.

The raunchy BBC series sees students Marianne (played by Daisy Edgar-Jones) and Connell (Paul Mescal) weave in and out of each other’s lives as they grow up in their educational years.

As well as the series having an important message of understanding people’s different backgrounds and mental health, it has also hit the headlines for the pair’s raunchy on-screen sex scenes.

Alex said watching the show has made her want to be in a relationship.

She told Michelle: “After watching Normal People I’ve realised I’ve been single for a while now and I need to make more of an effort because I’m ready to have someone in my life.”

In response to a fan, who asked if she had done anything to improve her dating life in lockdown, she replied: “I can’t do anything in lockdown.”

Last month, Alex said she was “shy” when it comes to dating and revealed she had been on just one blind date in her whole life.

Discussing virtual dating with her The One Show co-host Alex Jones, she said she’d be “too awkward” to speak to someone via video call.

“I’d be too awkward,” she laughed. “I’ve only ever had one blind date in my whole life, I’m too nervous.”

Alex J then suggested she could “make soup” or learn to speak Spanish with someone else online.

Stunned by her response, Alex laughed: “Vegetable soup? That’s probably why I’m struggling.”
