Carol Kirkwood: BBC Breakfast weather star issues stark warning after mishap ‘Not kidding’

Carol Kirkwood, 58, is a firm favourite on BBC Breakfast alongside her colleagues Dan Walker, Louise Minchin, Sally Nugent, Naga Munchetty, Charlie Stayt and Mike Bushell. The weather forecaster took an opportunity to warn fans to wrap up warm as temperatures plummet, before the TV star admitted she struggled to find her gloves today.
In view of her 185,000 Twitter followers, the small-screen star revealed temperatures had dropped significantly this morning.
Carol wrote: “If you are just stepping out, it is cold at the moment. Got on a T-shirt, a blouse, a cardigan, a puffer jacket, and a raincoat! Trying to find my gloves! Not kidding either! @BBCBreakfast.”
It comes as the meteorologist delivered her latest weather forecast at MayField Lavender Farm in Banstead.
Fans flocked to comment on the post, as many people agreed with the weather warning.

One person commented: “Good morning Carol, definitely a wee bit chilly out, but gorgeous sunshine have a lovely day.”
“Winter coat on here in Cheshire to go let my chickens out. It is July isn’t it?” another person quizzed.
A third person added: “I’ll remember my cardy when I leave for work in an hour! Morning Carol.”(sic)
A Twitter user quipped: “That’s a lot of layers you’re wearing.”
Carol often travels to different parts of the country to deliver the latest weather forecast.
On the official BBC Breakfast account, they shared a series of snaps from the lavender fields.
They wrote: “Beautiful sunrise over the lavender fields on #BBCBreakfast @carolkirkwood is finding out why the harvest may be later than usual this year.”
During her latest forecast, Carol admitted that Britons should brace themselves for a chilly start.

She explained: “It’s a cold start of the day, there’s a lot of sunshine to start the day with as well but through the course of the day the cloud is going to build.
“The sunshine will turn hazy and later on we will see rain coming into Northern Ireland and also into western Scotland.
“First thing this morning we do have some showers dotted across the north of Scotland.
“As we go through the course of the day we will hang on to them. We will see one or two get into southern areas but for most of Scotland it’s dry, it’s bright where you’ve got some sunny intervals.”

Carol continued: “And for northern England, in fact for much of the rest of England, the Channel Islands and also Wales, we’ve got that sunny start but it is a cold one.
“In some rural parts of Wales this morning, temperatures were only 3C but in London it’s 14C and in the sunshine the temperatures will pick up quite quickly.
“As we go through the day a bit more cloud building, turning the sunshine hazy for some of us. Areas of cloud as well, also thickening out to the west across Northern Ireland and also western Scotland.”
