Nickelodeon star Drake Bell, known for starring in teen sitcom Drake & Josh, has been arrested in Ohio and charged with crimes against children, multiple reports confirmed Friday.
According to police, Bell, 34, is facing one count of attempted endangerment of a child and one count of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, Fox8 News were first to report.
While it was not immediately clear what prompted the charges, the outlet claims Bell allegedly engaged in an inappropriate chat with a victim ‘that, at times, was sexual in nature.’
DailyMail.com has reached out to Bell’s lawyer who has so far been unavailable for comment. He is said to have been asked to submit his DNA, which is standard practice in Ohio.

The alleged incident is said to have taken place on Dec 1 back in 2017, which is when the actor was scheduled to be performing at club in Cleveland.
Bell is said to have appeared in Cuyahoga County court on Thursday this week, and entered a not guilty plea, posting a $2,500 bond that ordered him to have no contact with the alleged victim.
Presumably the actor may have been scheduled to perform in Cleveland as he has a notable music career in addition to his acting credits.
Though state laws differ in how they categorize and punish child endangerment, it is a crime in every state.
Specifically in Ohio, the charge is filed against offenders who ‘create a substantial risk to the health or safety of the child, by violating a duty of care, protection, or support.’

For the other charge slapped against the actor, ‘disseminating matter harmful to juveniles’ is said to be the result of suspects who ‘directly sell or deliver’ any material or performance that is ‘obscene or harmful to juveniles.’
The former child star has run into trouble with the law before, after being sentenced to four days jail time in 2015 for driving while intoxicated, which was his second DUI conviction in a six-year time period.
Born Jared Drake Bell, the Californian native found fame as a child actor at the age of five on Home Improvement, and also starred alongside Amanda Bynes on The Amanda Show in the early 2000s.
As well as his acting career, Bell is a musician and formed a band named Drake 24/7, and has released several albums to middling success.
In 2006, he reached #81 on the Billboard 200 with his second album It’s Only Time, selling 23,000 copies in the first week.
