A source connected to the production said: "They’ve been calling and texting each other about the story," according to US Weekly.
The insider added: "They’re loving that the truth – which has been an open secret for years in the industry – is finally receiving more interest."
The blonde presenter was first branded "the meanest person alive" after former employees and fans took to Twitter to share their memories of the star being horrible to them.
The claims started after comedian Kevin T Porter asked his followers to write about the stories in reply to his post.
Slamming Ellen, he wrote: "She’s also notoriously one of the meanest people alive Respond to this with the most insane stories you’ve heard about Ellen being mean & I’ll match every one w/ $2 to @LAFoodBank". [sic]
Hundreds came forward with stories, including one person who recalled serving her at a restaurant. They wrote: "I worked @RealFoodDaily, served her & Porsha at brunch. She wrote a letter to the owner & complained about my chipped nail polish (not that it was on her plate but just that it was on my hand). I had worked till closing the night before & this was next morn, almost got me fired." [sic]

Since then, both staff members and the public have confirmed the stories about Ellen's mean streak, even claiming she rated staff members' babies once.
And fans recently accused the star of "forcing" Mariah Carey to reveal her pregnancy weeks before she suffered a tragic miscarriage.
The witty comedian is thought to be struggling with the negative backlash from the public as a separate source told the same publication: She thought this was all just sour grapes from a few haters. But it’s not a passing thing – the hits just keep coming."

Ellen is thought to be leaning on her 47 year old wife Portia de Rossi for support.

"Their home life is strained right now… Her real friends never ask her to be funny or tell jokes. They accept her as is."
