Holly Willoughby asks fans to pick perfect scenario hours after Schofield axe

Should Holly Willoughby also depart from This Morning?

Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary have stepped in to present This Morning this week after it was announced Phillip Schofield had quit the ITV show.

Holly Willoughby, who will remain a regular presenter on the daytime programme, has taken a short break from her hosting duties.

Meanwhile, the mum-of-three, who is also part of her lifestyle brand Wylde Moon, took to Instagram on Sunday and shared a post about self-care.

It comes just hours after she released a statement about Phillip’s sudden departure saying the “sofa wouldn’t feel the same without him” in a short statement released on Saturday – before giving her followers some tips for a “Self Love Sunday”.

The 42-year-old shared a photo of a candle, face mask, journal and bubble bath, and advised fans to “choose their perfect Sunday scenario”.

Her wellness post suggested alternative options to enjoy a Sunday, including “getting cosy” binge-watching TV while wearing your pyjamas to getting out and about in a bid to “get out and clear your head”.

The Wylde Moon guru’s message comes amid reports she’s “relieved” the drama surrounding her reported fall-out with Phil is nearing an end following his departure.

However, Phil is reportedly “broken” after leaving the “show he loves”.

A source told The Sun: “He thinks the way he was forced to step down was so unjust and he feels completely broken by how this situation has been handled.

“This Morning was Phil’s life and now he feels he has been knifed without proper consultation.”

Phil made no mention of Holly in his statement when he announced he would be stepping down from the programme.

He said: “I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story.

“Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind.

“I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.”

Phil concluded: “So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me – especially This Morning’s amazing viewers – and I’ll see you all for the Soap Awards next month.”

Taking to Instagram, Holly shared a statement saying: “It’s been over 13 great years presenting This Morning with Phil and I want to take this opportunity to thank him for all of his knowledge, his experience and his humour. The sofa won’t feel the same without him.”
