Kanye West opening a prep school to honor late mom, more news
Kanye West is planning to open a predatory school to honor his late mother, Donda West. Multiple reports say the rapper will open The Donda Academy at the site of a shuttered school in Simi Valley, Calif. A website for the institution said the school prepares students “to become the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators by providing them with a world-class education that includes a rigorous core curriculum, and an emphasis on sustainability, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving.” Yahoo! Sports said the institution will be backed by Adidas and have a topnotch basketball program, as it already has a commitment from one of the most-recruited high school students in the country. The website makes no mention of how much tuition is.

Britney Spears has a new “protector.” On Oct. 8, Sam Asghari surprised the pop star by bringing home a new puppy. In an Instagram video, Britney can be heard asking her fiancé about the four-legged friend. “Her name is Porsha, and she’s meant to unconditionally love you and is going to be trained to protect you from any motherf****** who come around you with bad intentions,” Sam said. Recently, drama surrounded Britney’s dogs during a dispute with a housekeeper. On Aug. 20, TMZ detailed that Brit’s housekeeper took two of the singer’s dogs after believing they were being neglected — the belief stemmed from one of the dogs being sick. Things soon came to a head between Britney and the housekeeper, especially after the pop star suspected that the housekeeper was working in cahoots with her father regarding the missing dogs. During a heated argument, the housekeeper claimed Brit slapped a phone out of her hands. Later, reports claimed Brit was worked up because the housekeeper took one of the pooches to the vet without her permission.

Taraji P. Henson is about to become a multi-hyphenate. The actress is launching a music career. “I actually have an EP that I’m working on. Surprise!” the “Hidden Figures” star told Good Morning America. “I’m just working on some really good, feel-good music. I’m not trying to toot my own horn here, but it was time for a pivot because I’ve done so many iconic roles, you know what I mean? It’s like, I can’t just, you know…acting it has to be something that excites me and challenges me.” Recent musical gigs has reenergized her love of music. “Like, Miss Hannigan in ‘Annie’ challenges me,” she said. “That’s musical theater, taking me back to my roots. So it’s about just continuing to challenge myself…I kept saying that music, I might have missed it because I became a mother so early on in college, but God has other plans for me because the music is just really falling in my lap.”

Kumail Nanjiani basically broke the Internet two years ago when he unveiled his seriously ripped body (to the surprise of nearly everyone.) At the time, the Marvel star happily flaunted his physique, which came as result of a strict diet and intense dedication to the gym. Now, though, he’s had a change of heart. “I’ve found out over the last year and a half, since I did that picture, that I am very uncomfortable talking about my body,” he told GQ, “and it’s become less and less and less comfortable.” While proud of his body, he’s afraid that his look is adding to the perpetuation of toxic masculinity. “It is aggression,” he said of the muscled look. “It is anger. A lot of times we are taught to be useful by using physical strength or our brain in an aggressive, competitive way. Not in an empathetic way. Not in an open, collaborative way. It’s the same thing when you have all these guys, like, asking people to debate them on Twitter. That’s the same as arm wrestling. It’s about defeating. And that’s what the male ideal has been. Dominating. Defeating. Crushing. Killing. Destroying. That’s what being jacked is.”
For the past week, rumors have linked Selena Gomez and Chris Evans. Twitter is now convinced it’s cracked the case. First, they’re pointing to paparazzi images of the two leaving the same restaurant around the same time. Fans believe the duo left separately to try and thrown off shutterbugs. Then, Selena and Chris were supposedly seen at the same studio. Eagle-eyed fans have now recently noticed that Chris started following Selena on Instagram. This normally might not raise any flags, but the “Captain America” star follows less than 200 people, so he’s obviously careful about who he keeps tabs on. Selena, for what it’s worth, once copped to having a “crush” on Chris, too. Can we start working on a couple’s nickname yet?
Ciara is standing by her ailing’s man’s side. Russell Wilson injured his finger in an NFL game on Oct. 7, and he underwent surgery the next day to repair the damage. “You’re the toughest Man I know,” Ciara wrote on Instagram alongside a snap of the NFL stud in the hospital. “Always dedicated and committed to do whatever it takes. I love you so much my Sweet King. Thank you Dr Shin and team for taking care of my baby #3.” Russell later posted an image that appeared to show him leaving the hospital with a cast on his hand. Russell’s offensive line clearly isn’t the only one stepping up for him.

Alyson Hannigan is a big star, but her house might have a more impressive resume. The “How I Met Your Mother” alum revealed that “This Is Us” uses her house to film — and it’s not the only time her house has appeared on screen. Who knew! “I think my house’s resumé is longer than mine,” she joked on an October 2021 episode of SiriusXM’s The Michelle Collins Show. Alyson said the former owners of her home used to rent out the space for film and TV shoots. “I would say at least twice a month, [we] get requests [from film productions] because the house is just known,” she said. With this in mind, Alyson soon realized the director of “This Is Us” lived next door, so she offered up the stunning abode. “We were like if we are ever going to do it, we would do it for that show ’cause it’s so good and … long-running shows, like, the crews are very respectful,” she said. “Not only did they give us our house back in wonderful shape, they fixed things that I had damaged, including touching up some paint and covering up her kids’ handprints on the wall. They’re like, ‘Would you like us to do that as well?’ And I’m like, ‘I know that wasn’t from you, but yeah, thank you.'”
