Pregnant Laura Anderson says Gary Lucys split claim is not true
Laura Anderson and Gary Lucy announce they’re having a baby
Laura Anderson, 34, has clarified remarks made by her ex-boyfriend Gary Lucy, 41, that the pair split because he would not move to Scotland.
The Scottish Love Island star shared she was “always moving to Essex” to make a life with the father of her unborn child before he suddenly announced their break up on social media.
Speaking on the real reason behind the couple’s split, Laura shared: “It’s really hard to explain. I wanted us to reconcile and I wanted things to work out.”
The main reason Laura felt upset over her break-up with Gary is that he “revealed it on a whim on his socials – that wasn’t planned” as well as later sharing the gender of their child without consulting her.
She continued to OK! Magazine: “But I’ve learned that life doesn’t always go as you hoped. It’s done now and it is what it is.”
“I think sometimes people stay in relationships, maybe when they shouldn’t, which doesn’t help the child in the long run.”
However despite her heartache Laura has vowed to put her baby first and is
feeling “positive” as her baby is “strong” and healthy.
In July last year, Celebs Go Dating began filming which is where Laura and Gary met each other for the first time.
The premise of the show meant the celebrities were meant to connect with normal singletons but they ended up falling for each other.
At the time, she recently split from Dane Bowers, with who she lived in Dubai.
Gary ended up asking Laura out on a date after realising he had feelings for the TV personality.
Laura even admitted that she used to have a crush on Gary during his time on Footballer’s Wives in the early 2000s.
At the time, she told the aforementioned publication: “My mum fancies him! And my friends are obsessed.”
Following the wrap party, they went Instagram official, much to the delight of fans.
Laura revealed the pair were set to become parents after sharing a sweet post on Instagram in February this year.
The touching clip showed Laura having an ultrasound scan and then showing the pics to her adorable Pomeranian pup.
Gary later confirmed the pair were no longer an item as he said: “I love Laura but we are no longer together.
“My main drive as always is to work together to co-parent our child. I look forward to the arrival of the new baby,” he added to The Sun.
