Behind Her Eyes fans in shock as they discover Adele is played by the daughter of U2 frontman Bono

The Netflix thriller Behind Her Eyes has left fans hooked with its very racy scenes and jaw-dropping ending.

But the six-episode series has left fans shocked for another reason after the actress Eve Hewson, who plays mysterious wife Adele, is revealed to be the daughter of Bono.

The 29-year-old Irish actress, is the daughter of the U2 frontman, 60, and Ali Hewson, 59, and stars in the psychological thriller based on the best-selling book of the same name by Sarah Pinborough.

And fans of the show were left stunned by the revelation with many taking to social media to share the surprising U2 link.

One wrote: “I’m trying to watch ‘behind her eyes’ but watching young female Bono is quite weird.”

Another added: “Just discovered that the actress playing Adele in Behind Her Eyes is Bono’s daughter. I wouldn’t have guessed that!”

“Just blew my brother’s mind by telling him that she’s Bono’s daughter,” a third posted.

The series follows a single mother who becomes involved in an unconventional love affair when she falls in love with her psychiatrist boss while also secretly befriending his wife.

Eve plays the mysterious wife of David (Tom Bateman) who become entangled in a love affair with Louise (Simona Brown).

Adele has dark history which is seen in various flashbacks including her time spent in a psychiatric unit as a teenager following the death of her parents in a house fire.

Eve, who has an older sister Jordan and two younger brothers Elijah and John, revealed how her rocker dad used to play U2 songs in the car on the way to school.

Her dad also discouraged her from pursuing an acting career and told her: “If you’re an actor, you’ll be really lonely all the time because you’ll be on location by yourself.”

However the Dublin-born actress decided to carve out a career on screen and has also starred in the 2018 film Robin Hood along with US TV series The Knick.

Speaking about her dad to OK! Magazine, she said: “He used to blast Backstreet Boys in his car in traffic on the way to school.

“He'd get out of the car in his dressing gown and dance with his glasses on, and we'd be mortified.”
