Caffè Nero joins Uber Eats to offer delivery service

Caffè Nero to your doorstep: Chain joins Uber Eats to offer delivery of coffee and pastries while hundreds of branches remain shut during lockdown

  • Caffè Nero has joined Uber Eats to offer delivery service for the very first time
  • Comes in response to demand and has been rolled out in 40 stores across UK
  • Service allows for pastries, biscuits and iced drinks to be delivered to door
  • Here’s how to help people impacted by Covid-19

Caffè Nero has announced it is joining Uber Eats to offer a delivery service for the first time as it responds to demand from customers for its coffee amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Available exclusively on Uber Eats, customers will be able to order their award-winning Italian style coffee, as well as pastries, cakes, biscuits, snacks and iced drinks delivered directly to their door.

The exclusive partnership means the premium coffee house can continue to be flexible in how it serves its customers, and over 40 stores will offer delivery by the end of May.

Will Stratton-Morris, CEO Caffè Nero UK, commented: ‘Since we’ve opened some of our stores for takeaway, we’ve seen strong demand for our coffee.

‘We want to be able to help those unable to visit one of our open stores enjoy our coffee without compromising the premium quality.

‘I believe the partnership with Uber Eats allows us to do that and continue to as we open more stores’.

Toussaint Wattinne, General Manager of Uber Eats in the UK, added: ‘Caffè Nero is one of the nation’s favourite coffee brands, and we’re delighted they have partnered with us to offer their premium quality coffee and products to customers, available exclusively via the Uber Eats app.

‘So whether it is your morning coffee fix or an afternoon pick me up, Caffe Nero via Uber Eats has you covered.’

40 Caffè Nero stores are currently open for takeaway only in the UK, and include clear protocols to ensure employees and customers are kept safe.

They are offering a limited menu including the chain’s award-winning coffee and other items such as pastries.

Each store is offering free hot drinks to all NHS staff throughout May and all store teams working are volunteers, who have requested to go back to work.

Uber Eats has introduced measures to help ensure that every courier can access the PPE they need.

As well as providing free sanitising products, it is providing couriers with over one million masks. All orders made via Uber Eats are contactless meaning they are left at the door of the customer.
