Meghan, Duchess of Sussex approached royal life with her own flair and perspective. The one thing she absolutely understood was bringing her own brand of style to the very traditional royal fold. Meghan Markle struggle to let go of control of her image in the British royal family
Though Meghan was a relatively well-known actress when she married Prince Harry, nothing could have prepared her for the royal spotlight. Everything from her personality to her wardrobe was picked apart by the press and public. It was a very challenging thing for her to contend with.
“As an actress, Meghan expects perfection,” royal expert Duncan Larcombe, told The Sun. “But when you’re in the royal family, you have to learn that it’s not about you, it’s about what you represent.”
One of the reasons why the Sussexes decided to step away from royal life is because the duchess struggled with her lack of freedom. “Even though [Meghan] was a famous actress, she could still do what she wanted in the way of getting around freely,” an insider told the Daily Mail in 2018. “But in her current role she can’t go anywhere without her protection team, and that’s a massive constraining force on an individual like her.”
