Gogglebox ’s Ellie Warner isn’t exactly shy when it comes to her hair colour choices, but she still managed to surprise fans when she strolled down the red carpet last night with bright purple hair.
Her fresh look was created for the Bafta TV Awards, which she attended with sister and fellow Gogglebox star Izzi Warner. Both looked stunning, but Ellie’s vivid violet hair really made her stand out.
The 28 year old shared a close-up look at the colour on her Instagram, shortly before hitting the red carpet.
“Violet Beauregarde eat your heart out,” she joked in the caption.
Many will remember Violet from the Charlie and the Chocolate factory films, where the bubblegum-blowing child turned into a blueberry after chewing on a forbidden piece of gum.
Though an unlikely style icon, we must admit Ellie is certainly rocking the purple better than Violet. It seems fans also love the look, with many complimenting the star on her bold colour choice.
“Best colour yet. Love it,” said one, while another raved: “You look incredible Ellie, your hair really suits you. It's beautiful.”
Ellie tagged her colourist Tom Beresford in the glamorous snap, and thanked him for helping her get the fresh new hue. A quick scroll through his Instagram page shows plenty of other vibrant hair colours he’s created, which is probably why he’s such a favourite of the Gogglebox beauty.
Before this venture into violet, Ellie tested out plenty of other vivid hair colours. Just a month ago, she took inspo from Billie Eilish with a neon green multi-tonal colour. Before that, she opted for a fun block fuschia.
Ellie’s look certainly was the stand-out of the night, but there were a few other stars who made quite the impression on last night’s Bafta TV red carpet.
Billie Piper brought a touch of the Eighties to the night, with a scrunchie-heavy hairstyle, while Strictly’s Oti Mabuse wowed the crowd with an old Hollywood-style beauty look.
Oh, how we love awards season!
