Photographer captures moment brides loses her three-carat diamond
This fluke shot by a wedding photographer saved the married couple’s big day from turning into a disaster
- Bride lost the diamond from her ring
- It slipped from the band during the reception
- The photographer caught photos of the stone missing
A photographer unwittingly captured the moment a bride’s diamond slipped out of her ring while shooting a couple’s lavish wedding.
Laura Palacois was capturing couple Courtney and Michael’s wedding when they realised the ‘giant’ three-carat diamond was missing.
The photographer looked through her photos to see if she could pin-point the moment the rock fell out before one of the waiters from the venue found it and returned it to the cool-headed but very grateful bride.
Laura nor the newlyweds had any idea the three-carat rock had dislodged from the ring until they jumped in a pool during the night’s finale.
Courtney and Michael frantically searched the pool while Laura went back through her photos and noticed the stone had dislodged while they were on the dance floor where an employee quickly found it.

Replying to @user3206423994034 the most iconic cool and collected bride & groom ever. And shout out to @winegardennbv (the venue) employee who found it wedged between the slats of the dance floor. We ran over as I realized it must have fallen at some point on the dance floor based on the photos, and thankfully it wasn’t in the pool! AND thankfully the groom bought a diamond so big it got wedged in the gaps! #weddingstories #crazyweddingstory #founddiamond #fortlauderdalewedding
She said one of the reception venue’s staff found the stone wedged between the slats on the dance floor.
The man returned the diamond to a cheering Michael and relieved Courtney who rewarded the waiter with a kiss.
Laura said the wedding ring mishap didn’t stop ‘the most iconic cool and collected bride and groom ever’ from enjoying their night.
‘That looked like a hell of a party and what an amazing bride to still be partying and not let it ruin her night. good for her!!’ one viewer commented.
‘I’d be changing that setting real quick. so glad they found it!!’ another chimed in.
‘That’s legit a miracle to even find that,’ someone else responded.
