Save on your shop & support British farmers with Morrisons’ top deals on steaks and fish – The Sun

THERE are some delicious new savings at the deli counter.

Morrisons is selling restaurant-quality steaks, fish and shellfish at half price on its new summer steak and seafood bars. It’s to help British farmers and fishermen sell quality produce that hasn’t sold due to lockdown.

So have a butcher’s at these tasty savings . . .

Morrisons’ must-visit. The new steak and seafood bars are now open and include fillets, sirloins, rump and ribeye steaks at hugely reduced prices. An 8oz fillet which normally costs £7.04 is now just £3.52. Prices per kilo on steaks are competitive, with savings of up to 52 per cent compared with other supermarkets at the moment.

Butcher buddy. Get friendly with your nearest butcher or fishmonger. During lockdown it’s important to support local traders, so get chatting — ask them what the biggest saving is this week.

There are bound to be certain cuts that aren’t selling but can make delicious dishes. If it’s something new to you, ask how to cook it, how many portions it makes and what to serve with it. They can also help you work out cheaper ways to use new and different cuts.

Get in my deli. I have seen many local delis putting together delicious boxes of meats, cheeses and nibbles, including olives and dips, at bargain prices.

Many do home deliveries and are currently offering huge savings, thanks to restaurants not needing supplies. By shopping at these businesses you are helping them, plus getting yourself a restaurant-standard spread. For example, Spanish deli chain Brindisa is now offering 50 per cent off cooking chorizo.

Bread ahead. I’ve seen local bakers offering takeaway services or delivery over the last week or so and it saves me queuing at the supermarket.

You can likely save pounds by ordering a batch of loaves or rolls, and don’t worry that they’ll go stale, as they freeze well. Call your local baker and see what deals they can do.
