The Grinch cast now – bitter co-star feud, Playboy modelling and untimely death
Dr Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas became an international favourite following its release in 2000 – with the green creature instantly becoming a centrepiece during the festive period.
From breaking child actress Taylor Momsen into show business to seeing two cast members get caught in a bitter feud, the film had a big impact on the film industry.
While some of the stars of the film went on to achieve superstardom, other actors certainly weren't as lucky as one actor even claimed they would be working in a steel mill in Canada if he wasn't a famous actor.
Daily Star is bringing you all the information you need to know about the cast…
Possibly the biggest star to land a role in the film is 59-year-old Jim Carrey.
The Canadian-born actor played the role of The Grinch but has since landed some mega-roles, including portraying Joe Biden.
Aside from this, the famed actor has been at the centre of several controversies, including wrongful deaths and anti-vaccine scandals.
In 2015, his then-girlfriend Cathronia White was found dead, it had been claimed that the make-up artist had died following an overdose from prescription medication.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ruled her death as a suicide.
Just a year after her death, White's husband, Mark Burton filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the star, claiming he used his "immense wealth and celebrity status" to illegally obtain prescription drugs.
Carrey has since denied this, saying: "Cat's troubles were born long before I met her".
In 2015, he branded the then California Governor, Jerry Brown a "corporate fascist" claiming that he was "poisoning" children by introducing mandatory vaccinations.
Jim's fellow Bruce Almighty actor Martin Freeman slammed the actor in a blistering attack, saying: "For me, and I’m genuinely sure Jim Carrey is a lovely and smart person, but it was the most self-aggrandizing, selfish, f**king narcissistic b**locks I have ever seen."
Her first major breakthrough role as Cindy Lou Who in How The Grinch Stole Christmas saw Taylor go on to be nominated for a string of awards.
The child actress later landed roles in the likes of Gossip Girl and the 2008 comedy film, Spy School as well as auditioning for the role of Hannah Montana but was beaten by Miley Cyrus.
After signing to international modelling agency IMG in 2008, she has since become the face of British high street brand New Look as well as Madonna's Material Girl.
While her work may have been mostly PG, she has previously revealed she ventured into the world of Playboy.
In 2011, she said: "I was at the mansion last week and took some pictures. Does that count?"
Despite being best known as Cindy Lou Who, she also starred in the CW series of Gossip Girl as Jenny Humphrey.
Away from acting, Taylor has a less successful music career as the lead singer of the band The Pretty Reckless.
Actress Molly left her role on Saturday Night Live just one year after the release of The Grinch, during which she played mum Betty Lou Who in 2001 but had an extremely successful career prior to signing on the dotted line.
Kicking off her movie career back in 1989, she starred as Meg in the hit musical The Phantom of the Opera before taking on the role of Traci in Return to Two Moon Junction back in 1995.
The mum-of-two has starred in over 30 films as well as having over 30 television credentials, including covering the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex for HBO in 2018.
Molly has been extremely busy in recent years, despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
It's believed that she is currently working on two films, Spin Me Round and A Good Person, as well as awaiting the release of Hotel Transylvania: Transformania next year.
While Bill Irwin has been acting since 1980, his most famous role is arguably playing Lou Lou Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas as well as Saturday Night Live and Law & Order.
Before finding fame, Bill had a life with the circus – who he credits for his strong work ethic, leaving the industry in 1979 to follow a career on the stage.
The dad-of-one has also starred in the likes of Law & Order and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation with over 30 film and television credentials to his name.
Keeping true to his stage routes, Bill has kept busy in the theatre industry, often taking centre-stage on Broadway including productions such as Shakespeare's King Lear in New York City.
15 time Emmy Award-winning actress Christine Baranski burst onto the scene in 1977 playing Debbie Busting Loose before taking on the role of Martha May Whovier in The Grinch.
Since becoming the Queen of Christmas with her light machine, she has also won over another audience as raunchy Tanya Chesham-Leigh in the Mamma Mia series.
However, Christine's world was shattered in 2014 following the death of her beloved husband, actor and playwright Matthew Cowles who suffered congestive heart failure.
Most recently, Christine has appeared in an episode of The Simpsons, playing herself.
Jeffrey's character Mayor Augustus May Who was perhaps best known for disliking The Grinch, who he attended school alongside.
Their rift was brought to light when Martha May announced she had romantic feelings for The Grinch, sending Augustus into complete meltdown.
In November 2017, Tambor was accused of sexual misconduct by a former assistant before actress Trace Lysette also made allegations against him.
Addressing the claims, he said: "I am deeply sorry if any action of mine was ever misinterpreted by anyone as being sexually aggressive or if I ever offended or hurt anyone.
"But the fact is, for all my flaws, I am not a predator and the idea that someone might see me in that way is more distressing than I can express."
It was reported that Jeffrey had ventured into Scientology but the actor has since stated he is "no longer a Scientologist."
Josh Ryan Evans
Josh played the role of eight-year-old the Grinch in the film when he started to dislike Christmas after his schoolmates teased him due to being different to his pals.
