Twitter Changed Its 'Like' Button for Beyoncé's 'Black Is King,' and People Are Obsessed

The internet is currently freaking out over Beyoncé's film/visual album Black Is King, now streaming on Disney+. And these days, the internet freaking out takes the form of lots and lots of tweets. Go on Twitter and type in the hashtag Black Is King, and you'll see thousands of messages from fans praising Bey for her latest masterpiece. I expected to see this, but what I didn't expect is what happens when you “like” any of these tweets.

Hit the tiny heart underneath any tweet with the hashtag Black Is King, and it will turn into a little lion. No joke! Do it now, and see for yourself.

Normally, artists have Twitter make them a custom hashtag when they release a project—a little image will pop up every time you type it in. Bey has that too, obviously, but this added “like” button feature makes the release of Black Is King all the more special. And if you're wondering, “Why lion?” — Black Is King uses music from the 2019 live-action adaptation of The Lion King, in which Bey voiced the role of Nala.

Check out just a few reactions to this fun Twitter feature, below. Fans are loving it!

"I typically keep comments short and sweet, but I just watched the trailer with my family and I’m excited. ?please don’t get me hype?? Black Is King is a labor of love," Bey wrote about the film on Instagram. "It is my passion project that I have been filming, researching and editing day and night for the past year. I’ve given it my all and now it’s yours. It was originally filmed as a companion piece to The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack and meant to celebrate the breadth and beauty of Black ancestry. I could never have imagined that a year later, all the hard work that went into this production would serve a greater purpose."
