EastEnders’ Danny Dyer teases possible Mick Carter return after dramatic exit

Danny Dyer breaks silence after dramatic EastEnders exit

During the festive special things came to a dramatic conclusion after Mick (played by Danny Dyer) after Janine’s (Charlie Brooks) lies were finally exposed.

After plunging her car into the English Channel with Linda (Kellie Bright) in tow, Mick bravely dived in to rescue them both.

Getting Janine free first, he went back into the water to try and save his love, not knowing she had managed to get herself to safety.

With Mick nowhere to be seen as the episode came to an end, it became clear to viewers he’d died at sea.

Despite there not being a body recovered, Linda recently received an official death certificate that declared Mick’s death as presumed.

However, the soap star teased that it may not be the end of Mick completely as he hinted at a possible return to Albert Square.

Speaking to Radio Times, Danny hinted saying: “I don’t regret leaving, but it was really emotional for me.”

“Mick’s exit felt like a real ‘full stop’, but maybe it was a ‘dot, dot, dot’.”

Danny first appeared in EastEnders back in 2013 and stayed in the BBC soap for nine years before revealing he had decided to leave.

At the time of the announcement, he told his fans he’d chosen not to renew his contract as he squashed any speculation of a fallout.

The 45-year-old said: “That’s all. That’s not because I’ve fallen out with anybody, I love everybody. I am leaving EastEnders. I’m very lucky, I’m very grateful.

“When you’re in a job like a soap, your contract comes up for renewal and every time it has they’ve asked me to stay.

“I’m very grateful for that. Because I’ve seen a lot of people come and go. It’s very tough.”

Since Mick’s death, viewers have seen Linda struggle to run the Queen Vic without him as she looked for someone to buy his share of the pub.

Despite Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) offering to go into business with her friend, so did husband and wife duo Nish (Navin Chowdhry) and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal).

As the three went to war to try and be the ones to invest in the pub, it was Linda’s mum who saved the day.

Making her grand entrance this month, Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) has already caused a stir with the Walford residents, including Nish.

EastEnders continues Mondays – Thursdays on BBC One from 7:30pm
