Ellen DeGeneres ex-staffer says stories on false persona are 'all true'
An ex-staffer on Ellen DeGeneres’ chat show has said that claims their former boss is not that nice behind-the-scenes are ‘all true.’
The American comedian has come under fire of late after it was said employees on her talk show were ‘distressed’ after a lack of communication over wages during coronavirus lockdown.
A former bodyguard also claimed that the star’s sweet persona was a ‘bravado’ and ‘false facade’.
Now, a former employee of the 60-year-old has spoken out, saying that the stories about the Oscar’s host are ‘all true.’
Speaking to the New York Post, the anonymous source claimed: ‘The stories are all true!
‘Is she always nice? No. It irritates me that people think she’s all sweetness and light and she gets away with it.’
Previously, DeGeneres’ former bodyguard Tom Majercak described his experience of working with the comic at the 2014 Oscars.
Speaking to Fox News, Tom explained: ‘I’m holding their hands and walking [Ellen and wife Portia De Rossi] through individuals and large groups of people. Ellen is the one person that I’ve been assigned to – and I’ve been assigned to quite a few celebrities – that has never taken the time to say hi to me.
‘It started going negatively when she introduced me to Ellen and Ellen pretty much just gave me a side glance out of her eye and didn’t even say “hello,” or “thank you for protecting my mother, my wife and me.”
‘It was very cold and it was very sly and it was actually kind of demeaning in the way that she treats people other than those who are in her circle.’
Beauty blogger NikkieTutorials also hit out at Ellen, saying the host ‘didn’t even say hello’ when she appeared on the show in January.
The beauty guru – real name Nikkie de Jager – came out as transgender earlier this year, with her first interview afterwards.
However, Ellen has previously slammed claims about how she treats staff, calling it an ‘outright lie.’
‘That bugs me if someone is saying that because it’s an outright lie,’ she told the New York Times in 2018.
