Emmerdale star's 'dream business' shuts down after less than three years

Emmerdale actress Charley Webb, who played Debbie Dingle in the ITV soap, has shut down her ‘dream’ business after less than three years.

The actress, who is married to David Metcalfe actor Matthew Wolfenden, posted the sad news to her Instagram stories.

‘@nordi_babi is closing,’ she said. ‘I’ve loved this chapter and the journey it’s taken us on but we just don’t have the time to run it the way we want to.’

‘I love everything Scandi so this has been a dream.’ She added.

Charley and Matthew started their business, which sells Scandinavian style wooden children’s toys, in 2020, alongside Matthew’s brother, David.

The idea first came to them when eldest son Buster was born in 2010. According to their official website, Matthew and David began to make toys when Charley couldn’t find any that she liked.

Now, however, they have made the decision to permanently close, offering a 40% off closing sale.

With Matthew still a permanent cast member in Emmerdale and Charley working as an actress, as well as having three children between them, it is easy to see why they have struggled to find the time they would like to dedicate to their business.

Recently, Charley has been seen on the set of a new ITV drama about the Yorkshire Ripper, where she donned a police uniform for her new role.

The new drama also stars former Coronation Street and Happy Valley star Katherine Kelly as well as Lee Ingleby, known for his roles in The A Word and Netflix’s Criminal.
