Josie Gibson let out an almighty scream as she suffered a disastrous fall on This Morning when she tumbled into water, with viewers saying it was a ‘Bridget Jones moment’.

On Thursday’s edition of This Morning, the TV personality was sharing how viewers could be in with a chance of winning £90,000 by entering a competition when she experienced a disastrous slip.

While wearing a wetsuit and walking across an inflatable float on a body of water, speaking to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby in the ITV studio, Josie screamed as she lost her footing and ended up in the water.

Phillip’s jaw dropped as the blunder unfolded, while Holly burst into laughter.

‘That wasn’t meant to happen!’ Josie exclaimed, as she held onto the float to keep herself above water.

Despite the fiasco, Josie persevered, continuing to read out the competition details as Phillip covered his mouth and a chuckling Holly clapped her hands.

To make matters even worse, Josie pointed out that she had an expensive piece of equipment on her back that had become wet.

But it didn’t end there, as after Josie’s role informing viewers about the competition had ended, the camera panned back to her, showing a crew member pulling her out of the water by her life jacket.

‘Are you alright Josie?’ Holly asked as Josie screamed with laughter.

In an extremely cringeworthy moment, filming continued as Josie was turned around by the crew member, resulting in her rear end being presented to camera.

‘Oh my god,’ Phillip yelled while laughing uncontrollably, adding: ‘This is not the most dignified shots there have ever been Josie, we’re so sorry to cut back to you! We could not lose this link.’

‘Oh my god, that was maybe my favourite moment of yours ever Josie, that was incredible,’ Holly remarked.

Several This Morning viewers also found the whole segment hilarious, with one person saying that Josie ‘is the gift that keeps on giving’.

‘What a professional poor old Josie is – falling into the water during a competition link on #ThisMorning but carrying on regardless. Made me thinking of Bridget Jones!! Well done Josie – what a star!’ another said.

Someone else tweeted praise for the TV presenter, telling her: ‘Oh Josie, you crack me up!’

If you’re going to fall into water on live TV, you might as well find the funny side of it!
