Little Britain is back! Matt Lucas and David Walliams reunite for new sketch

Little Britain will drop a new sketch for the upcoming BBC fundraiser The Big Night – the first in a decade.

While details of the return are being kept under wraps, it will be first time Matt Lucas and David Walliams have dug out their contorviersial characters on screen in more than 10 years.

Lucas recently teased Little Britain’s return on The One Show, but suggested the comedy would br brought back in an entirely new format.

‘[David Walliams and I] message each other most days and send each other those silly memes that everybody sends,’ he said.

‘We are getting on well and we are thinking about what we can do with Little Britain. But we don’t know what it will be.  ‘Could it be a podcast? Could it be a series on TV? Could it be a stage show?’

Joining Matt and David, Catherine Tate will be reprising her role as gobby Lauren the school girl, teaming up with former Doctor Who co-star David Tennant.

‘The Big Night In will celebrate the acts of kindness, humour and the spirit of hope and resilience that is keeping the nation going during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic with a special night of programming for BBC One,’ said the BBC.

‘This is the first time the BBC’s biggest charitable partners, BBC Children in Need and Comic Relief, have come together and the aim of the evening is to celebrate and reward those going the extra mile to support their communities in these troubled times.’

The Big Night in kicks off on BBC One Thursday April 23.
