Netflix shares sneak peek at The Witcher season two after Henry Cavill injures himself on set

NETFLIX has shared a sneak peek at The Witcher season two set to tease fans.

It comes just days after it was revealed star Henry Cavill injured himself while filming scenes for the fantasy drama.

But that hasn't stopped show bosses dishing out the early festive treat for dedicated viewers of the series.

Accompanying three pictures from the set, they wrote on Twitter: "We've got a little #Witchmas present for you.

"Here's some sneak peeks from the set of Witcher Season 2."

The mystery snaps showed what looked liked Witcher swords and medallions in two, while the third showed a flag with a coats of arms on it.

And the images were clearly enough to whet the appetites of fans, who responded: "I am so goddamn pumped!"

"Love swords especially Witcher swords," tweeted another.

While a third commented: "I REALLY CANNOT WAIT FOR SEASON 2".

One viewer noted: "Looks like a Scoia'tael flag! Oh I'll be so in love with this season!"

While there is some suggestion the pictures identify the place where the Witchers of the School of Wolf were trained – Kaer Morhen.

Fans of the show will know season 2 is set to follow Cavill's character Geralt of Rivia journey to Kaer Morhen with Princess Ciri, played by Freya Allan.

Killing Eve’s Kim Bodnia joins the cast as Vesemir, a blast from Geralt's past, his mentor and a father figure.

Things now appear to be back on track for the show after the season two filming schedule was thrown into chaos by Cavill's injury.

Cavill, 37, had been 20ft high in trees and on a safety harness at Arborfield Studios, Berks, where the show is filmed.

A source said: “The filming has been hit because of what happened to Henry. He was on an assault course and injured his leg.

“He just suddenly pulled up and was clearly in a lot of pain. It wasn’t clear if an object had hit his leg or it was some sort of hamstring or muscle injury.

“It wasn’t bad enough to need an ambulance but it’s messed up the filming schedule as he can’t walk properly.

“He has to wear heavy armour in the scenes and he just wouldn’t be able to do it with his leg injury.’’
