'Trevor from EastEnders' popped up in The Batman trailer and we're mindblown

Ex-EastEnders star Alex Ferns – aka the evil Trevor Morgan – has landed himself a prominent new role in The Batman alongside Robert Pattinson… and fans can’t quite get over it.

The Scottish actor left the soap all the way back in 2002, but his wife-beating and rapist character remains one of the darkest forces to ever grace the Square.

So, fans couldn’t quite get their heads around The Batman trailer, when the familiar face popped up as the leader of the Gotham City Police Department.

Alex will play Commissioner Pete Savage in the new film, with Robert Pattinson starring as The Batman, while Zoe Kravitz plays the light-footed criminal known as Catwoman.

An unrecognisable Colin Farrell will play Oswald Cobblepot – aka Penguin – with Paul Dano causing trouble as The Riddler.

But it was Alex’s turn as the Commissioner Savage that caught the attention of UK viewers – with plenty delighted to see him in such a prominent role within Gotham.

Not much is known about his character, but as the Commissioner he sure has his work cut out for him… question is, whose side is he on?

Either way, we’re ready to see what he’s about to bring to this dark retelling of the comic book adaptation

Trevor’s actions were made even more awful when Mo eventually hit back, clocking him over the head with an iron to stop him attacking her.

He then reported Mo for attempted murder, making him even more hated across the country.

He eventually burned to death in a house fire that he started – proving a moment of celebration rather than sadness.

Most recently, Alex has been continuing to make his way over to Hollywood, appearing in the highly acclaimed Chernobyl last year.

In 2018, he added that it’s his thick Scottish accent that is his main giveaway, with his appearance changing so much that people don’t recognise him.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, he joked: ‘I look very different than I did then. Stones heavier, big beard, some fat guy, a fat homeless guy.

‘When they hear my accent they say, “Oh that’s definitely Trevor from EastEnders,” but they don’t recognise me.’

Well… it seems like some people won’t forget a face that quickly!

The Batman is yet to be given a release date.
