Parades, city events through June may be axed over coronavirus, de Blasio says

Parades and other city events scheduled for June are unlikely to proceed as the coronavirus crisis continues — but a final decision has yet to be made, Mayor Bill de Blasio said Friday.

The city has already announced that all city-permitted events scheduled for May will be canceled.

The Pride Parade and the Puerto Rican Day Parade are among the events set for June.

“I don’t see it for June, but we’re going to have the conversation carefully and then have an announcement real soon,” Hizzoner said.
