Trump hits Palm Beach course, says Putin was a 'friend'

- ‘They’re all saying oh he’s a nuclear power it’s like they’re afraid of him,’ Trump said in a recording of a phone conversation with Daly
- ‘I say, Vladimir, if you do it we’re hitting Moscow. We’re going to hit Moscow. And he sort of believed me like 5%, 10% that’s all you need’

Donald Trump on Friday told pro-golfer John Daly that he got along ‘great’ with Vladimir Putin and Russia didn’t invade Ukraine under his watch because he threatened to bomb Moscow.
‘They’re all saying oh he’s a nuclear power it’s like they’re afraid of him,’ Trump said in a recording of a phone conversation with Daly. ‘You know, he was a friend of mine I got along great with him. I say, Vladimir, if you do it we’re hitting Moscow. We’re going to hit Moscow. And he sort of believed me like 5%, 10% that’s all you need.’
‘He never did it during my time John, you know. They were all talking about it ‘why didn’t he do this during the last four years?’ Because he knew he couldn’t.’
The former president claimed that Chinese President Xi Jinping didn’t mess with him either.
‘Xi didn’t bother me either. I told him the same thing, that that’ll be next. You know that’s going to be next. Taiwan will be next,’ he predicted.
‘You won’t have any computer chips. They’ll blow them off the face of the earth.’
Taiwan dominates the semiconductor chip manufacturing industry, producing 60% of the world’s chips. Taiwan’s residents have begun to fear that Putin’s invasion of Ukraine could stir a Chinese invasion in their homeland.
Meanwhile, Trump was spotted by DailyMail.com on Friday wearing black pants, a white polo shirt and his signature red Make America Great Again hat and golfing with several partners at his West Palm Beach course.
Playing alongside the president were Allan Kournikova, the Russian-born half brother of former pro tennis player Anna Kournikova, golf coach Eduardo Miquel and Chilean PGA golfers Mito Pereira and Joaquin Miemann.

Trump was last spotted by DailyMail.com golfing at his West Palm Beach club last Friday ahead of his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
‘The American people are grateful, a majority of the American people is that President Biden has not taken a page out of his predecessors playbook,’ Psaki said in her daily briefing
As Trump was out on the course, White House press secretary Jen Psaki claimed that Americans were ‘thankful’ that the Biden administration hadn’t used his foreign policy strategy.
‘Another reason why the American people are grateful, a majority of the American people is that President Biden has not taken a page out of his predecessors playbook,’ Psaki said in her daily briefing, as she fielded questions about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Trump has repeatedly insisted that Vladimir Putin would not have invaded Ukraine under his watch.
‘I stand as the only president of 21st century on whose watch Russia did not invade,’ Trump bragged during his CPAC speech last week. ‘Under Bush, Russia invaded Georgia. Under Obama, Russia took Crimea. Under Biden, Russia invaded Ukraine.’
‘I have no doubt Putin made his decision to ruthlessly invade Ukraine after watching pathetic withdrawal from Afghanistan.’
‘I was with Putin a lot, I spent a lot of time with him, I got along with him,’ Trump also offered. ‘It’s a good thing to get along with people, it’s not a bad thing,’ the ex-president protested.
‘It would have been so easy for me to stop this travesty from happening,’ Trump continued. ‘He understood me, he understood I didn’t play games.’
Trump said in a recent statement:
‘There should be no war waging now in Ukraine, and it is terrible for humanity that Biden, NATO, and the West have failed so terribly in allowing it to start. Instead of showing strength and toughness, they declared the Global Warming Hoax as the #1 threat to global security, killed American Energy Independence, and then made Europe, the U.S., and the rest of the World dependent on Russian oil. They laid down the welcome mat and gave Russia the opening, now Putin may be getting everything he wanted, with Ukraine and the rest of the World suffering the consequences.’
Meanwhile, Trump this week turned on Bill Barr, calling his former attorney general ‘lazy’ and a ‘coward for his latest round of media hits and his forthcoming memoir.
Former Attorney General Bill Barr recounted the dramatic moment when former President slammed his hand on his desk and ordered him to go home without delay after he disputed Trump’s election fraud claims.
Barr resigned his post shortly before Christmas in 2020, just weeks before the end of Trump’s term – in an event that has since been revealed to be a sign of inner White House turmoil over Trump’s efforts to push his fraud claims even after they were thrown out of a succession of courts.
‘I told him that all this stuff was bulls*** about election fraud,’ Barr told NBC in an interview.
‘And, you know, it was wrong to be shoveling it out the way his team was. And he started asking me about different theories. And I had the answers. I was able to tell him, ‘This is wrong because of this,’” Barr said.
Barr, who is promoting a new book, also described his dramatic confrontation with Trump.
Meanwhile, Trump this week turned on Bill Barr, calling his former attorney general ‘lazy’ and a ‘coward for his latest round of media hits and his forthcoming memoir
‘Boom!’ Former Attorney General Bill Barr says former President Donald Trump slammed his hand on a desk as he accepted his offer of resignation after Barr refused to accept his election fraud claims, which were tossed out of a succession of courts
‘He was obviously getting very angry about this,’ Barr recalled. ‘I said, Okay, well, look, I understand you’re upset with me. And I’m perfectly happy to tender my resignation.’
That prompted a furious outburst from Trump.
‘And then, boom! He slapped the desk, and he said, “Accepted!” Accepted!”‘
‘And then, boom! He slapped it again,’ Barr said, slapping his own hand for emphasis. ‘Accepted! Go home. Don’t go back to your office. Go home. You’re done.,’ he says Trump told him.
The dramatic confrontation between the two men is one Trump tried to paper over in a tweet announcing Barr’s departure, when it was revealed he would stay on until Dec. 23.
“Just had a very nice meeting with Attorney General Bill Barr at the White House,” Trump Tweeted Dec. 14th. ‘Our relationship has been a very good one, he has done an outstanding job!’
Trump called Barr ‘weak’ and ‘ineffective’ in a statement released Friday afternoon.
‘Former Attorney General Bill Barr wouldn’t know voter fraud if it was staring him in the face—and it was. The fact is, he was weak, ineffective, and totally scared of being impeached, which the Democrats were constantly threatening to do. They “broke” him.’
And in a statement to NBC he said he demanded Barr leave for failing to do his job, calling his former AG ‘Lazy’ and a ‘coward.’ The interview airs Sunday at 9 pm.

Barr also ridiculed Trump’s infamous 2019 call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, where Trump asked him to ‘do us a favor’ and investigate Joe Biden’s son Hunter. Zelensky has since become a hero of resistance to the Russian invasion
It was a stunning last act for Barr with Trump. He had infuriated congressional Democrats after he released a summary of the Mueller report – which when viewed in full spelled out 10 areas of potential obstruction of justice by Trump.
Barr hit back at Democrats for their criticism that his summary didn’t reflect the totality of the serious admonitions contained in the full report, which probed Trump’s firing of former FBI Director James Comey and potential efforts to obstruct the Mueller probe itself.
‘That’s not true. What it was, was a tantrum by the people who were hoping that Mueller would be able to bring down Trump,’ Barr said.
Barr also ridiculed Trump’s infamous 2019 call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, where Trump asked him to ‘do us a favor’ and investigate Joe Biden’s son Hunter, at a time when Zelensky was pleading for arms. Zelensky on the call with Trump said Ukraine was ‘ready to buy more Javelins from the United States for defense purposes.’
The conversation, a key part of the first Trump impeachment, has taken on new attention amid Zelensky’s desperate pleas for arms amid Russia’s invasion, where Zelensky has become an international folk hero for standing up to the attack.
“This whole maneuver of trying to get the Ukrainians to investigate Biden. That was a hare-brained scheme. It was ridiculous,’ Barr said.
He said he was ‘livid’ when he learned Trump told Zelensky that he would have lawyer Rudy Giuliani and Barr call Zelensky. The Justice Department denied Barr had any knowledge of the situation when the call transcript came out.
Barr describes the episode in his memoir, ‘One Damn Thing After Another.’
Barr also claimed to have yelled at former President Donald Trump after he asked the attorney general about Hunter Biden’s laptop, a new excerpt from Barr’s explosive forthcoming memoir revealed on Wednesday.
The ex-attorney general and his boss did not speak until weeks past the election afterwards, Barr wrote in his personal account of the Trump White House titled One Damn Thing After Another.
In the latest segment obtained by Fox, Barr described an October 2020 phone call from Trump. It was allegedly soon after the former president watched a Newsmax clip about the laptop, which threatened to have explosive information on then-candidate Biden and his recovering drug addict son.
Barr claimed Trump asked him: ‘You know this stuff from Hunter Biden’s laptop?’
‘Mr. President, I can’t talk about that, and I am not going to,’ Barr said he ‘sharply’ replied.
The former Cabinet official said Trump was displeased with his tone and asked him to consider whether it was one of his five children instead of Biden’s son.
‘You know, if that was one of my kids– ‘ Trump began, according to the book.
Barr cut him off: ‘Dammit, Mr. President, I am not going to talk to you about Hunter Biden. Period!’
Barr and Trump (pictured together in July 2019) butted heads more than once during Barr’s final months as Trump’s attorney general, his new book reveals
The attorney general said his chief of staff was left stunned after the phone call ended shortly thereafter.
Barr said he nodded when Levi asked, ‘You yelled at the President?’
Barr claimed to have attended an election night party the next month but otherwise had no direct contact with Trump until three weeks after the election.
DailyMail.com has reached out to Trump’s spokespeople for comment.
A New York Post report from October 2020 that emails found on Hunter’s laptop could purportedly implicate Joe in his embattled son’s international business dealings during his time as vice president.
A hard drive obtained by DailyMail.com revealed the laptop contained communications that appear to show deals cut by Hunter and his business associates, and meetings with foreign officials while his dad was in the Obama administration.
A particularly email sent to Hunter Biden outlined a ‘provisional agreement’ that included 10 percent equity in a Chinese energy company for ‘the big guy’ – later identified as Joe Biden.
It also contained salacious pictures and videos of the current president’s son performing sexual acts with prostitutes and using what appears to be a crack pipe.
Trump and his opponents had hoped the laptop would derail Biden’s presidential campaign.
